Ebooks Might Be The Perfect Marketing Tool?

Written By: Jim Linderman - Apr• 23•12

What is an E-Book? EBook is short for Electronic Book which is a book that is delivered in electronic or computer format. EBooks are perfect viral marketing tools. It is simply a downloadable file that contains a group of compressed files. This file can be accessed from your website and downloaded an unlimited number of times by your visitors. Your visitors can then display your information by just opening your eBook.

An eBook  can provide your visitors with a valuable resource and it lets you to promote your services for free. An eBook should contain quality information that focuses on the subject matter while also promoting your product or service.  By simply giving your eBook away and allowing it to be distributed for free it can be viewed by thousands. What other marketing tool do you have that will work 24 hours a day, seven days a week for years to come? Your potential and current clients can get the latest sales information, technical information, or great extra value. The key to success with eBook marketing is to encourage your visitors to distribute your eBook.

What could you write about in your eBook? Write about what you know about! There are millions of people online so your eBook can target just about any audience. Your eBook should provide valuable information that cannot be found easily anywhere else or at least gathered together in one collection of information. The more exclusive and hard to find the information is, the more people will download your eBook. “How To” guides have been some of the most profitable and read eBooks ever created.

You should always include a link in your eBooks back to your website or affiliate program since people will have permanent access to it once they download it to their computers. If you update your eBook regularly then they may use your eBook again and again, thus seeing your link over and over again, which directs them to your site.

Now is the perfect time to write an eBook or convert your .pdf help and information files into an eBook. They are a new and powerful tool that opens up endless possibilities for small businesses to distribute information to the millions of people who are searching for many different things. Though normally thought of as a process for online businesses there is no reason why your customers can’t get your latest help manuals or product information. You can set a link in an email for your clients to download your eBook. No waiting for them visit your site or possibly going to some other web site.   An eBook is one of the easiest and productive ways to promote your business while providing quality information that you already possess. Not only will they help you promote your business but could also help you establish a name for yourself and your website, which is called branding.   People are looking for information, that’s why they search the web. Help gather great information into an eBook they can use and pass on to others. Everyone loves free things and they especially love free information about something that interests them.

Don’t forget these ideas:

  • Set up a link in your eBook so that your readers can recommend your eBook to their friends and online partners.
  • Include a message inside your eBook and on your website that states that others can give away your free eBook. This will bring in visitors and add value to their websites. Remember, the more times your eBook is downloaded then the more exposure and free traffic your website gets. This is the power of viral marketing.
  • Once you determine what topic you want to write about, research what is already available and then try to find a void that you can fill with your eBook.
  • Convert those pdf files about your products, services or help file into an eBook

Reason not to “upgrade” to Windows IE 9

Written By: Jim Linderman - Apr• 21•12

While most computer owners rarely update their computers programs unless they set up the automated windows updates, there are some that just want the newest or they were told the newest was the greatest. (Some of us turn off the updates because they always seem to happen while you want to do work.)

Well the newest IE9 might be the best IE version out there, but it is incompatible with XP. IE9 only works with Windows 7 and Vista. I’m not sure why Vista should count. Hated that OS. According to NetMarketShare, the majority of Windows users are still running XP, 55%, to 23% running Windows 7 and 11% with Vista. There is no support of IE 9 on Mac OS X or Linux either. It’s their way to say buy the new windows 7 even if you don’t want it. I loved XP and hated Vista. Win 7 is much better that Vista.

IE 9, while much faster than its predecessors, isn’t really faster than its browser rivals. All of which, again, will run on any desktop operating system you throw them at. Also the 64-bit version is slower than the 32-bit version. I have both versions on my computer.

Some web sites have a hard time displaying with IE9. And many have trouble with video.

“Problems playing videos can be caused by a number of different issues; most videos are based on Silverlight, Flash or Java which do require Internet Explorer add-ons to play. In most cases, ensuring that you have the latest updates for Windows, Internet Explorer and any Internet Explorer add-ons can help resolve most issues.” from Microsoft. I bet a lot of you didn’t know you needed plugins for IE.

If you are not running IE 7 for windows XP you should at least update to that version anything less and you could have big problems with attacks (Viruses, Trojans, etc.).

Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all seem to work well in all versions of windows. I would at least download the newest version of Firefox. I myself may try Chrome, I have heard good things about it.

Bottom line if you have XP don’t upgrade to IE 9. If you have Win 7 or Vista upgrade to the 32-bit version only. It’s faster.

Also: Microsoft has revealed that its new, Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) browser currently under development , will not run on the Windows Vista or XP operating systems, either now in its developer preview form or when the software ships.

What are eBooks?

Written By: admin - Apr• 20•12

eBooks or Electronic books are self-contained “executable” files of HTML. This HTML may be a web site you’ve created or HTML you’ve specifically prepared to be compiled into a downloadable .exe file for distribution. When downloaded, this file will self install on your clients desktop.

eBooks are very similar to normal physical books in the sense that they are rich in content. They are a huge resource for information. Anything you can put in a physical book, you can put in an eBook. If your site is about tropical birds, why not write a tropical bird guide. If your site is about web design, you could write a beginner’s web tutorial.   An eBook basically is a packaged offline web site that allows authors a great deal of flexibility in presentation of content. eBooks can be downloaded from your website and stored and read offline at any time. eBooks come with user friendly navigation tools that lets the reader skip to any page or search for any keyword in the eBook.   eBooks can be completely interactive with the Internet and can contain live links, graphics, forms, JavaScript, embedded video, audio, animation and more. Hyperlinks and internal search engines enhance navigation, allowing the reader to find items of interest quickly and easily. eBooks combine the functionality and purpose of physical books along with complex software.

eBooks will play a very important role in Internet Marketing over the next few years, no matter what the product or service offered by a company is. How can your business benefit from the eBook direction especially in terms of Internet Marketing?   eBooks offer myriad advantages to the Internet Marketer. A good idea for an eBook can explode your income. The best thing about publishing your own eBook is that not only can you earn a steady income by selling the eBook but you can also market all of your other products through the same eBook.   The primary reason why anyone would create and publish their own eBook is to make money. eBooks that are informative and focused sell very well. If the eBooks subject has a market, people would be willing to buy it.

One of the major benefits of selling eBooks is that anyone without any sort of prior experience could create a book and with proper marketing strategies, build a huge customer base. The key is building credibility with your eBooks. Once this is done, it would be very easy to make new as well as follow up sales. eBooks can lead to a variety of other opportunities for your business. eBooks also serve as great marketing tools. They can be used to attract customers for your other products or services.
